A New Twist On Reduce-Reuse-Recycle

Do you own an old device that has stopped working?  Clothing that needs repair?  Figuring its about time to just throw  these away and buy something new, but you just don’t want to part with it?  How about bringing those items to a “Repair Cafe”?

Repair Cafe’s are gaining popularity in the Netherlands, and perhaps has a place on this side of the pond as well.  Read about this concept in the article linked below from the New York Times Europe.

THE RUINATION OF THE WORLD’S ENVIRONMENT IS JUST BEGINNING TO DAWN ON ITS INHABITANTS. THIS EFFECTIVE TREATMENT TO SUSTAIN OLD AND INJURED ITEMS IS A WONDERFUL IDEA. NOW IF ANIMALS CAN BE SUSTAINED ALONG WITH THE ENVIRONMENT WE WILL BE FINALLY RECOGNIZING THE REAL VALUE OF LIFE. NOT SO WRAPPED UP IN THE MATERIAL THINGS WHICH WE “CAN” KEEP ‘ALIVE’ SO TO SPEAK…

REPAIR CAFES WILL, HOPEFULLY, BLOSSOM ALL OVER THE CAPE AND ISLANDS. WHAT AN EXAMPLE FOR THE REST OF THE COUNTRY!
