Planning Board Associate Members Needed

At May Town Meeting the Dennis Zoning By-law was amended to allow the Board of Selectmen to add two Associate Members to the Planning Board.  The amendment has now been approved by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and the Town is looking for two people to fill these positions.

These two people will serve as alternates on Planning Board decisions involving its Special Permit and Site Plan Review authority. Being an Associate Member will provide you with the opportunity to learn the function of the Planning Board, and to be a part of the future of the Town.

To serve in this capacity all you need is an open mind, a willingness to learn, and the ability to commit to attending meetings on Monday nights up to twice a month.  If you are interested, please fill out a green card today!

Well, there is no requirement in the Town By-laws that require residency. However, the issue comes up all the time as to the availability of any appointee during the winter months. In the past, even going away for a month has been an issue.
