I wonder if they asked about paying for tornado, earthquake or wildfire damage? Or, the flood control mechanisms along major rivers which nearly annually damage some part of the Midwest? Obviously, we need to take every step possible to flood proof our communities, and we need to be sure that the flood insurance program is properly funded to cover anticipated disaster relief costs, but there are many other natural disasters that are equally as costly as the impacts of storms on our shores.
The Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act has taken significant steps towards fully funding the National Flood Insurance Program.
