The Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Monday June 17th starting at 6:30 pm to review a proposal for an 8 unit housing project on the east side of Janall Drive.
The proposal will create 8 house lots ranging from about 13,400 st up to about 19,500 sf. Each lot will be occupied by a two-bedroom home. The size of the lots are equal to, or larger than, the house lots that presently exist along Janall Drive.
The proposal will require that two of the units be deed restricted to households earning no more than 80% of the county’s median income, for a three person household (typical target for a two-bedroom home) that figure is $58,000 as of March of 2013. These two units will be restricted to sell for about $150,000 at the outset, and will be restricted to sell at a rate that is not affordable to a household earning up to 80% of median income into the future.
The remaining 6 units will sell at market rates, which at present is about $300,000 in this neighborhood.
