Health officials tell motel owner that long-term tenants must go – News – capecodtimes.com – Hyannis, MA

Dennis has faced this issue, and will probably face it again. There are so many residents of the Cape living on the edge, and few real solutions. Motel life is not a solution to providing proper, safe affordable housing on Cape Cod. The residents living in these type of accommodations are living in housing that is barely one step safer than living on the street. Almost, a false sense of security.

Unfortunately, there are state agencies placing people into motels; other agencies avoiding looking for practical solutions to people with health needs that lead to homelessness; and so many other pieces to this puzzle. MelPet Farms Housing, the Hokum Rock Road Project, South Cape Apartments, are all part of the solutions. We need more though.
